This is why we’re going to have to have baths in the bathtub from now on.

Mat and Kara and the kids came out for ACU’s homecoming. Good time had by all.

Babyless

Twice in two days I find myself babyless.

For the first time yesterday, Carter went to the nursery at church. He likes church. He likes looking at all the people. I think he likes the singing. He usually falls asleep in the sermons. Yesterday, Cilla took him out to try to get him to go to sleep (his regularly scheduled nap time is right in the middle of church). She came back empty handed. So we had half a church service and bible class without Carter. I think we all handled it pretty well :) The nursery worker said he did well away from his parents.

Today, Cilla and Carter have gone to Brownwood to visit Grandma and Poppa (Cilla's parents). It is nice that Cilla's parents live close enough to make a day trip. We're envious of Katy's family proximity to my parents and the time they have spent with Grammy and Boppa (my parents).

Just the boys

Cilla is going to go back to work for a few hours late this afternoon. Her boss is in need of help for very short time frames. She'll go in a bit before shift change and help with some of the grunt work nurses don't have much time for, like admitting, discharging, and transferring patients.

We've both really enjoyed her being home, but we've both started to get a little nervous about our financial situation with her not working at all. If she works a few hours a day a few days a week, we should be fine, financially.

So, a couple of evenings a week (and maybe a little on Saturday) it'll just be the boys in the Wyatt house. Me, Carter, and Harley.

laptop woes

A rather large piece of my (old and tough-as-nails) laptop is now being held on by duct-tape. We’ll see how long it lasts.

Friday afternoons stink

I've never liked Friday afternoons. I'd rather work a month of Mondays than one Friday afternoon. It is especially hard this Friday afternoon since I left a happy baby and happy mom at lunch. I'd rather be at home with them.

Cilla is really doing a good job as new mother. She's a great mom and a great wife. So far, she's trying to let me sleep at night. I appreciate that she feels like I need a good nights sleep so I can do a good job at work. I love seeing her take care of my son.

We're going on our first walk this afternoon after I get off work (yet another reason to dislike work on a Friday afternoon). Wish us luck :)

Carter Cogburn Wyatt

He got here about 7:10 am on November 7th. He weighted 8 lb 3.6 oz at birth and is 20.75 inches long. Carter is doing fine. Cilla is doing ok considering she had to work pretty hard to have a beautiful baby boy. I’ll be posting the whole story and many more pictures here when I get a little more time.
